Unveiled as lead singer Julie Hough heads home to Galway to vote.
With less than a day to go until the polls open, Irish musicians around the country and farther afield are heading back home to make sure they can have their say in the Marriage Referendum.
One particular example is London-based quartet HAWK, who are the latest act to release a track inspired by the Yes campaign. Galwegian Julie Hough, who handles lead vocals and acoustic guitar with the band, is boarding a flight home so she will be able to use her vote on Friday May 22. Check out the video for 'GLASS' below. Director James Byrne got together with the band to create the beautiful video concept, aiming to recreate the LGBT rainbow colours and convey the sentiment behind this song – and most importantly the band’s sincere solidarity with the YES Campaign.
There has been an unprecedented level of engagement among musicians for this referendum, with the likes of Paddy Casey and Brian Kennedy penning tunes inspired by Marriage Equality and the likes of Hozier, U2 and Villagers offering their public support for a 'Yes' vote.
Along with the musicians, a number of Hot Press staff based in Dublin will also be returning home to vote tomorrow. The hope is that this will be repeated all over the country, with it being widely accepted that a big voter turnout will secure a victory for the 'Yes' campaign. You know what to do...
