Watch videos from top Irish acts, made courtesy of the Tisch School Of The Arts, in association with Hot Press.
Why have a slice of cake when you can gorge yourself on the whole thing and feel indulgently satisfied after?
Using this very sensible philosophy, we've got, oh, about a ton and a half of spanking new videos from acts such as Boss Volenti, Cane 141, Bray Vista and Doris for you to watch, right here on hotpress.com.
Apart from being amazing songs in themselves – the kind of stuff that reinforces the sense that there’s something special going on in Irish music at the moment – the tracks unveiled here have something else in common.
The artists involved were picked from hundreds of entrants, who were pitching to have their tunes made into videos courtesy of the Tisch School Of The Arts (from New York University) and Hot Press.
Spring 2006 was the fifth time Hot Press and Tisch made the facility open to Irish artists, and a whopping total of 17 videos were created for Juliet Turner, Delorentos, The Guggenheim Grotto, 66e, Doris, Cane 141, Messiah J and the Expert, The Flaws, Boss Volenti, Porn Trauma, The Rubens, Dae Kim, Lotus Lullaby, ITO, Dolly Doll, Michael Knight and Bray Vista.
Past beneficiaries of the scheme – which will run again in the autumn, with details to be announced shortly – include the chart-storming Republic Of Loose, Cork punk scene leaders, Rulers Of The Planet, the amazing Blizzards, Limerick's enigmatic Headgear and Choice Award winner, Julie Feeney.
