Of Monsters & Men at top of chart

The Icelandic six-piece are this week's Irish No. 1...

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 31 Aug 2012

Of Monster & Men have entered the Irish chart at No. 1 with their much-lauded debut, My Head Is An Animal.

The Icelandic act will be showcasing their wares this weekend at Electric Picnic (they're set to play on Sunday at 4pm, Crawdaddy Stage).

Pop/R&B singer Rita Ora is also a new entry this week, she's at No. 2 with her self-titled debut Ora, while fellow UK songstress Emeli Sandé is this week's No. 3 with Our Version Of Events.

At No. 4, it's Ryan O'Shaughnessy, the Irish singer-songwriter who appeared on Britain's Got Talent. Ed Sheeran completes the top 5 with his debut +. The flame-haired singer is also Picnic bound this weekend, and what's more - he's got a date with Hot Press! Fans should make a beeline for our Chatroom (located in the Mindfield area) at 4.45pm today, where Ed will be shooting the breeze with our own Celina Murphy!
