The classic rock station's listenership is up 19%.
The latest round of the JNLR figures are just out and Radio Nova is the big winner. Over the past year, the station (which celebrates its second birthday next month) has added significantly to its listenership and now boasts an audience of 140,000 in Dublin and the surrounding counties. Growth has come in each of the key demographics. It all makes Nova the most successful Irish station start-up in years and places it right alongside more established competition.
Speaking of the news, CEO Kevin Brannigan said, “We’re very excited by this latest set of results. Not only do they show an extremely strong overall result, we have achieved huge growth across all of the key demographics, clearly showing that Nova continues on a strong upward trajectory.
“In 2010 our goal was to bring something different to Dublin and the commuter belt counties. We’ve managed to entice listeners away from other stations by providing a unique mix of music, featuring the greatest-selling artists of all time, along with credible presenters – and it’s clear that this has proven immensely popular.”

Among the station’s regular features is the Hot Press Rock Report, which airs weekdays at 1pm and 6pm and features the likes of Craig Fitzpatrick, Roisin Dwyer, Dave Hanratty, Monica Heck, Nadene Ryan and Duan Stokes.
They’ve also won much praise for their €400,000 ‘The Truth About Addiction’ advertising campaign, which has been spread across transport, cinema, digital, TV and print.
