Conor J. O’Brien has been confirmed to appear on the Tuesday April 13 episode of Later Live… With Jools Holland, which airs from 10pm on BBC 2. He’ll be playing a couple of solo numbers as part of a bill that also includes such heavy-hitters as Paul Weller, Hot Chip, Marina & The Diamonds, Gogol Bordello and Free/Bad Company/Queen singer Paul Rodgers.
It’s a tremendous boost for the former Immediate man ahead of the May 14 release here of Villagers’ Becoming A Jackal album.
He’s also one of the acts who’ll be busking in Road Records on April 17 to help them celebrate Record Store Day.
In addition, Road have put together another of their handmade and hand-numbered CD compilations featuring 15 new tracks from new Irish artists.
Limited to just 200 copies, the line-up features Patrick Kelleher (also playing instore on the 17th), Hunter Gatherer, Richer Than Astronauts, Girls Names, Boys Of Summer, School Tour, Peter Delaney, Mouthpiece, Weill Rats, Mumblin' Deaf Ro, Hounds, Spook Of The 13th Lock, St. Catherine’s Home For Lazy Infants, Crumb and Aeromodeller.
