Equine motif aside, this track reminds me hugely of U2’s anguished hymn to tortured and tortuous relationships, ‘Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses’. Unfortunately, being a fledgling Corkonian oufit (albeit one based in the US), Rubyhorse aren’t as yet able to afford producers of the stature of Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois behind the production desk. That said, if they continue to produce melancholy torch-rock of this ilk, the American arena-rock circuit is likely to be theirs for the taking a la Coldplay.
