From the Double Gone Chapel
The latest offering from Weatherall and Teniswood is a murky masterpiece.
The latest offering from Weatherall and Teniswood is a murky masterpiece – one that is quite reminiscent, in its own way, of the former’s Haunted Dancehall LP from 1994. Introducing live instruments and Weatherall’s murmuring vocals breathes an eerie life into proceedings, combining well with the punk funk basslines and sparse, juddering electro beats that form this record’s backbone. A difficult listen to begin with, but, ultimately, this is a dark delight.
