Universal Ireland appoint new marketing man
Universal Music Ireland has announced that Freddie Middleton will begin active duty as their new Marketing Director next Monday, 15 August.
Middleton has previously worked for EMI and BMG and takes over the role from former incumbent, Claire Meredith.
Commenting on the appointment to Hotpress.com, UMI Managing Director Dave Pennefather said: “With the experience that Freddie has gained over the past number of years, he was the ideal man to come in. He joins a great team here and knows the business inside out.”
Pennefather also points out that Universal want to continue supporting Irish and UK artists, and a key aspect of Middleton’s role will be to raise awareness of domestic talent.
“We have a whole bunch of new acts coming out of the UK and Ireland, and we love breaking new artists.
“We’ve had a lot of success doing that with the likes of Snow Patrol, Bell X1 and Keane recently, and there’s plenty more to come. Freddie’s going to be a busy man!”
