Murphy and Brosnan up for Golden Globes

Cillian Murphy, the Cork-born actor whose CV includes Batman Begins and A Girl With A Pearl Earring, is up for a gong for his role as a young Irish transvestite in Breakfast On Pluto.
But also in the snappily-named Actor In A Leading Role - Musical Or Comedy category is fellow Irishman Pierce Brosnan, who is given a nod for playing an assassin in The Matador.
The awards take place on January 16, with other nominees including Russell Crowe, Heath Ledger, Charlize Theron and Sarah Jessica Parker.
