Vince Power opens London club
Hot on the heels of acquiring a controlling interest in Spain’s Benicassim Festival, former Mean Fiddler supremo Vince Power has opened a new “supper club” in the Piccadilly area of London.
Named after a legendary ‘60s nightspot that played host to the likes of The Beatles, Shirley Bassey and Sammy Davis Jr. among its performers, La Pigalle will open nightly from 6.30pm to 4am and have a capacity of 260 people.
For last week’s gala opening, the Waterford promoter brought in Van Morrison for three shows, which cost £100 to get into.
