Mizuage

No one could deny that Satamile releases ares anything but niche, but Mizuage is such an impressive collection of underground electro that it deserves the props, in the vague hope that it somehow strikes a chord with the general public. The evocative Kraftwerk-esque opener, ‘Schlagg Prallt Auf’, is an easy introduction to the Blotniks’ work, but it’s the only concession as from then on in, the kicks distort and the bass turns into a murderous weapon. However, if the scary synths and dramatic strings get too much, you can always console yourself with the soaring, almost trance-like melodies of ‘Tin Can’. Mizuage is a welcome blot(nik) on the techno landscape.
