Who's Ireland's greatest musician?
Want an election without all the two-faced politicians? Now’s your chance to vote for Ireland’s greatest musician.
Last year, Tommy Tiernan won Funniest Living Irish Person, now the People of the Year Awards are extending their reach to the music world.
A public vote will decide the top 15 nominees, and the title of Ireland’s Greatest Living Musician will be given to a winner selected by a panel of judges.
The top 15 will be those who get the most web and text votes by Friday July 20.
Organisers suggest front-runners might include Van Morrison, Christy Moore, Ronan Keating and Enya, but voters are free to nominate their favourite musician from any genre.
Just don’t expect Van or Christy to come canvassing.
The award was launched on Wednesday May 23 by model Katy French, along with Dave Fanning and Shay Healy, all pictured.
You can make nominations online at www.peopleoftheyear.com
