Glastonbury Song
WATERBOYS: "Glastonbury Song" (Geffen)
WATERBOYS: "Glastonbury Song" (Geffen) The Levellers: "Because" (China)
These days, Mike Scott is a master arranger with little or else to say or do but search for the Big G. But if believers can sometimes get stuck on the tramlines, that's far less a vice than killing England with tarmacadam. After all, somebody else besides Julian Cope has to seek the mystic on the British mainland. As for The Levellers, while I might approve their attitude and suspect they're far more influential than the London press would ever want to believe, a spirited performance can't hide the fact that "Belaruse" is a thrash, not a song.
