Bonde Do Role to play Belfast gig
Having just toured from New York to Moscow, Brazilian group Bonde Do Role will play Belfast on August 2.
The quartet were discovered by international producer Diplo through their MySpace account.
‘Solta O Frango’ which literally translates as ‘Release The Chicken’, has been used in a Nokia ad, on hit Channel 4 series Ugly Betty and it will also be featured on the soundtrack of Electronic Arts game Fifa 2008.
Support band Skibunny have been described as somewhere between Joy Division, Fourtet and The Cure.
Also coming to The Stiff Kitten are Australian group Operator Please, on July 9.
Following the release of their debut album, Yes Yes Vindictive, the teenage punk rock group, who have been compared to X-Ray-Spex and the B52s, have played main support to The Futureheads at their request, as well as the NME 2007 University Tour with The Go Team!. The group also recently visited Belfast with former Test Icicles man Lightspeed Champion.
