Limp
Drop Nineteens: “Limp” (Hut/Caroline)
The Dylans: “Grudge” (Beggars Banquet); Drop Nineteens: “Limp” (Hut/Caroline)
Two releases pervaded by the spirit of punk past rather than that of the Yuletide that is upon us. Verily, I say onto you, though, that there is no political bias in your cheerful reviewer so the dylans’ offering, which deals with various forms of frustrated begrudgery, I magnanimously extend to the Fianna Fail Party who are probably only being kept in check by a somewhat ‘limp’ Labour contingent. While ‘Grudge’ has more in common with American punk-grunge, ‘Limp’ has all the delightful idiosyncracy of early Wire or The Buzzcocks and is, consequently, a mite more exciting.
‘Limp’ is my rather wickedly poisoned present to (and curse on) all those silly lads stupid enough to fuck without a condom (unless of course they’re planning to father some children!)
Have a happy one
