Unoriginal Sin
JJ72 FANS DESPERATE for new material will be pleased, nay, thrilled to hear that the band are making a number of exclusives available through their .com website.
These include the Flood mix and video for their new single, ‘Algeria’, and the cover of the Pet Shop Boys’ ‘It’s A Sin’ which was originally meant to grace the flipside to ‘Snow’.
“I remember seeing them do it on Top Of The Pops when I was a kid, and though it’s pop music, it’s honest pop music and slightly subversive,” Mark Greaney tells hotpress. “Subversives in shoulder-pads! We heard it on the radio while we were on tour and it just sounded so much better than current chart pop songs.”
Fans will also be able to view footage of their recent Olympia show, which may be released commercially at some point in the future.
In the meantime, the JJs have started work on the follow-up to their debut album in Dublin. We’ll have more details for you in the next issue of hotpress.
