Laura Izibor hits the Urban charts in America
She's also been getting great reviews in Nigeria.
There’s more good news from the Laura Izibor camp with her ‘From My Heart To Yours’ single currently at number 12 on the US Urban AC Chart, and poised to go top 10.
The Let The Truth Be Told album track was played 834 times on respondent American radio stations this week, reaching a total of 6.205 million people.
That puts her within touching distance of superstars like Jennifer Hudson, Robin Thicke and India.Arie who the Dubliner’s currently on East Coast tour with.
The chart is topped by Charlie Wlson’s ‘There Goes My Baby’, which with a whopping 2,013 plays on Urban AC radio, was heard by 14.039 million pairs of ears. Unless people have lost one of their ears, possibly as the result of a Reservoir Dogs-style gangland revenge attack.
Laura has also been garnering great reviews in Nigeria where the national Daily Sun newspaper notes: “With her lilting accent, self-played piano riffs and throaty-sexy voice, Laura Izibor is showing a side of the green island that few likely have seen before. This Dubliner is not singing about leprechauns, but more about life. Her music is coloured by being both the odd girl out (that one kid at school with a white, Irish mom and a Nigerian dad) and the popular girl who accidentally discovered that she could sing.”
