Super Extra Bonus Party hang up their hurleys
The Kildare collective are taking a possibly permanent break.
Former Choice Music Prize winners Super Extra Bonus Party have announced that they’re on “indefinite hiatus.”
Reads a joint communiqué: “Some of us have taken this project further than we could have possibly imagined, and are content to leave it at that for now and go on to pursue other interests, some music-related and some not.
“Over the brief few years of the Boner Machine’s existence we had more ups than downs, and we’ve met some really wonderful people – mainly those who boogied on down to us and worked with us! – so thanks. Just because we’re doing different things at the moment doesn’t mean we’re not still boner brothers; as a result, never say never, we may well dust down the peejays and the hurleys at some time in the future.”
Those music-related interests include We Are Losers, MC Quiombola and Adultrock, all of which are well worth checking out on their various Bandcamp and Soundcloud pages.
A guaranteed good time live, SEBP will be missed.
