what's really fucked up is that Australia has mortgage interest rates of circa 7% so if you have a crash the negative equity spirals even more then here, because paying the interest on it is even more preposterous.

How much would Western Australia cost? I know it's mostly desert, but with a bit of irrigation, we could create a bagful of beaches. And you've also got Perth and Fremantle.
