| The Smiths are quite brilliant. I wasn't always of that opinion.

Dunno...they just grew on me more and more as time went on.
I consider myself a fan of The Smiths (both my family and the band) - but will never be a vegetarian like a lot of Smiths fans I know. Hamburgers rock!

Hydra, for shame! Put on 'How Soon Is Now'. Turn up the volume to 11. And get ready to reconsider. They are possibly the second greatest band of all time. Even the lyrics in 'Jean' in that video are outstanding... and that was a B-Side. "How can you call this a home when there''s ice on the sink where we bathe?" DavyL, you never included that clip on the bootlegs that I got from you. YOU get with the programme. Worst bootlegger ever!

| Ithas often struck me that there is a strange absence of raft in The Smiths songs and in Morrissey's lyrics. Maybe some people see that as the strength of their music. There is an oddness about it which comes from someone not having the kind of razor sharp instincts that produce great pop songs...

| Hydra, in which case, I strongly recommend you download 'Draize Train' and 'Oscillate Wildly'.

| Yeah, that video was slightly bizarre. I've always liked The Smiths but I was never mad about Morrissey's solo stuff. Or his vegetarianism. Or his preachiness about it...

I meant, of course, to say...
absence of craft...
