Songs to fall in love to
|
So we have had threads about grief and depression, with girls names and guys names and place names, best pop, worst pop.
What's the best sound track for a love affair.
Listening to Chairlift - Bruises now. A bit Dawsons Creek, but jesus it's delicious.

If you're talking Dawson's Creek then we have to mention Fade into You by Mazzy Star. That was always being played during Dawson's Creek and it's a nice song to fall in love to albeit a bit of a boo-hoo love song.
For the sheer joy and exuberance of falling in love then-
It's Getting Better by Mamas and Papas Heatwave - Martha and the Vandellas In your eyes - Peter Gabriel

| That's a hard one. I guess you mean something bright and sunny, as opposed to melancholy. The first track that occurred to me was 'Flowers In The Window' by one of those bands music snobs love to hate, Travis. But I will doubtless think of dozens more before the day is out!

Travis! They were huge! Where did they go? Chairlift have such a whiff of The Cure! But not The Cure.
Ah Mazzy Star, Spiritualized, Alexi Murdoch, Oren Levie, Smog, oh it flows!

I love 'Little Faith' by The National.

| Heard 'Georgia' by Ray Charles last night and thought - now that's a song to fall in love to. All you need is a woman by the name of Georgia...

| And his wasn't Tricky. I don't see the relevance of your point. Unless you are who I always suspected one of you to be.

Most songs by Air are lovely and pretty and could make you fall in love. (If I only had a heart...)

Burt Bacharach wrote a song about you.
Not exactly one to fall in love to. More like one for someone on the verge of falling seriously out of love!

| Eh, Georgia is about the place, as in The state of Georgia.

I was only playing Maedhbh. Georgia's more then likely NOT about a state but about a woman. Obviously it was kept loose so you could think it's about the state, but actually read the lyrics and it's fairly obvious.
