Julie Feeney's debut album 13 Songs hits the record shops in the UK today.
Having been released independently through her own Mittens label in Ireland, the acclaimed album is available through Red Ink/SonyBMG, in what is the first instalment of a longer term deal.
"All the tracks and the artwork are the same as on the original record, when it was released independently in Ireland," Feeney comments. "I'm very excited about the UK release."
With some live dates being lined up for the end of the month, and a confirmed appearance at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow on February 2, it looks as if the Feeney campaign is beginning to take real shape.
The album, given the thumbs up in Hot Press immediately upon its release in autumn of 2005, has recently been widely praised in the UK press, with positive reviews in The Sun, The Mail, The Times and The Observer – who led the way in a four star review that opined: "Her trump card is the way every song sounds as if it is a privately shared confidence. With hooks as strong as those on 'Wastin' and 'You Broke The Magic', the world will listen."
