Control Freaks: An Electrofunk Compilation
This compilation on new label Remote Audio brings together some of the more daring explorations of the style, combining tough dance floor shapes with blissed-out electronic textures
While the mascara-caked, glam-obsessed end of contemporary electro is getting all the media attention, as usual, the real innovations are taking place in the music’s underground. This compilation on new label Remote Audio brings together some of the more daring explorations of the style, combining tough dance floor shapes with blissed-out electronic textures. Scape One’s Euro tinged ‘Solaris’ and the whiplash percussion on Rob Euroh’s ‘Pulsar Drive’ represent the club friendly end of the spectrum, while the widescreen cinematic soundtracks come from Bitstream, Silicon Scally and Transparent Sound, ensuring ‘Control’ is a near definitive snapshot of modern electro.
