Detroit Calling
The Burden brothers and their 430 West label have been responsible for some of the finest dance floor house and techno to come from Detroit over the last decade.
The Burden brothers and their 430 West label have been responsible for some of the finest dance floor house and techno to come from Detroit over the last decade. More consistent than UR and more prolific than May or Atkins, the brothers’ Octave One and Random Noise Generation guises have provided us with a uniquely hypnotic, percussive take on dance floor techno. Now, nearly a decade after they originally surfaced, Octave One deliver their first mix CD.
Made up almost entirely of their own tracks and work from other Detroit artists, the twenty eight tracks on offer are blended seamlessly by eldest brother Lawrence, making for an individualistic and seriously funky synopsis of the Burden’s achievements to date.
