Banquet

I reckon that, come December, we’ll still have found few albums to match Silent Alarm, and ‘Banquet’ almost manages to sum up all its charms in the space of one song. From the very opening seconds of syncopated rhythm guitars onwards, this record just swings in a way that none of their competitors have been able to match. Not the first, not the last, but definitely the best.
