While we bring exclusively bring you their first, self-titled album, the high-energy rock quartet tell us about not fitting in with any scene and touring with The Strypes in the new issue of Hot Press.
Talking to Hot Press – read the feature piece in the new issue – Raglans explain taking their time before releasing their debut album, making sure they had the songs in place and confidence to give it a real go.
"I think we all knew which ones would cut the mustard," says bassist Rhos Horan. "With 'Lady Roll Back The Years', which ended up being the first single, we weren't even going to put it on the album. The label and the manager were just like 'oh we love that song!' I think it's just a case of we just had it for so long and never recorded it. But they really fought for it, so we said, 'alright, alright, we'll put it on the album'. So then we put it on the album and they were like 'right, first single!'. Once we showed it to people, played it to fresh ears, everyone really bought into that one. A good high energy one, a good indication of what we do."
For much more than just an indication, check out their album, in full, right now. A buoyant and supremely confident work produced by the venerated Jay Reynolds, it receives a superlative review in the new issue to boot. Stream it below. If you like what you hear, the record is out now.
