Exclusive! Massive Attack to play Electric Picnic
Massive Attack have confirmed that they’re coming to Ireland in September for a headlining appearance at the Electric Picnic.
“We’re really looking forward to it,” Robert “3D” Del Naja tells Hot Press. “We’ve been in the studio pretty much non-stop for the past few months, so it’ll be nice to get some fresh air!”
With the band also playing California’s Coachella shindig in late April, they should be fully festival fit by the time they reach Laois.
Appetites for the show will whetted by the March 27 release of Collected, a 2-CD ‘Best Of’ which will be preceded by a newly recorded single, ‘Live With Me’, featuring Acid Jazz godfather Terry Callier.
They’re also close to completing their latest studio collection, Weather Underground, which will be unleashed in early 2007.
