Stellarsound scoop Shark Award
Stellarsound & Paula Flynn have won the Hot Press-sponsored award for 'Best Use of Music in Advertising' at the 2007 Shark Awards.
Their deliciously understated cover of David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’ was commissioned by McConnell’s for Ballygowan’s ‘Bodies Never Lie 2’ advertising campaign.
Rightly drooled over by Ian Dempsey and the rest of the folk at Today FM, it went on to be a top 10 Irish hit and make a media darling of young Ms. Flynn, not least in this magazine!
Two of the men handing down the pronouncements, UK creative director Tony McTear and Blinder Films’ Kieron Walsh, said afterwards that it was by far and away the toughest category they’d had to judge. Pictured at the ceremony are IAPI President Shane McGonigle with Stellarsound's Steve Lynch.
