Derry-born Nadine Coyle is very proud of her Irish roots – so much so that she insisted on an Irish flag being included on the cover of a Girls Aloud album.
Picking up the story, the 22-year-old singer told Hot Press: “In our Greatest Hits album cover they had a Union Jack flag on there - on the first draft. I was like, ‘What is this? Where’s the Irish flag? If you are going to put the Union Jack on you have to put an Ireland flag on’. So they did.”
In an upcoming interview to be published in January’s edition of Hot Press, Nadine also revealed that she is annoyed when the press label Girls Aloud as being a British band
“When people say Girls Aloud are a British band and I’m there, I will explain that we are four British and one Irish,” she told Hot Press.
