The legendary Eric Clapton has announced an outdoor summer show in Dublin.
The guitar maestro is the first act to be unveiled as part of Aiken Promotions’ summer programme of gigs in Malahide Castle.
Slowhand plays on June 21, with tickets priced €76.25 on sale on Monday February 4.
Meanwhile, rumours of Led Zeppelin playing Slane have been further fueled by Jimmy Page who says he’s raring to take the band out on the road.
“The amount of work we put into O2 was what you’d normally put into a world tour anyway,” the 64-year-old says of their December 10 comeback gig in London. “We wanted people who might not have even been alive in 1980 when we finished to understand what we were. We did the show, and it was great. It was instant in terms of chemistry.”
The guitarist confirmed that Robert Plant will be finished touring with Alison Krauss in September, which although too late for the likes of Reading and Glastonbury, leaves the door wide-open for a trip to Meath.
