The National, The Go! Team and Tricky are among a rake of new acts that have just been added to the three day Oxegen festival.
Fresh from three sell-out shows at the Olympia Theatre this week, The National have ben confirmed to play Oxegen. The critically acclaimed Brooklyn outfit, fronted by Matt Berlinger, have been one of the surprise breakthrough acts of the past two years, with their 2007 album Boxer, and a stint supporting REM establishing them among the American indie bands du jour.
Also confirmed to appear at Ireland's biggest open air festival are trip hop pioneer Tricky, the irrepressible The Go! Team, Welsh rockers Feeder, three of the UK’s hottest new bands, The Pigeon Detectives, The Enemy and One Night Only, as well as hot US property The Whigs.
This year’s Oxegen takes place over three days, from July 11-13, 2008 at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co Kildare, featuring one of the strongest line-ups ever.
