Hip-hop legend Styles P is jetting in this weekend to perform in Eamon Dorans and with Republic of Loose at Oxegen.
Republic of Loose are bringing virtual US hip-hop royalty to Dublin and Oxegen. Style P who, while not a huge name on our shores, is known widely in the UK and the US as a solo rapper and as a member of LOX, a group who recorded with the likes of Notorious BIG and P Diddy.
Styles P will perform on Saturday (July 12) at the ‘US vs Ireland’ hip-hop event in Eamon Dorans. Joining him on the night will be NU CENT, Millionaire Boyz, Spit Fire, Bitter Rocc, Leiko, MC Mighty & Jennifer and Johnny Boy and several top DJs.
Then on Sunday,(July 13) it’s off to Punchestown to join Republic of Loose on the O2 stage at Oxegen. The Rapper and the Loose became friends earlier this year when Styles P took time out to record vocals on the Republic of Loose single 'I Like Music' from their latest album VOL IV:Johnny Pyro And The Dance Of Evil.
Styles P’s biggest credits to date are 1998 LOX album Money, Power, Respect, which gave the group their first hits, Kiss tha Game Goodbye which debuted at No.5 on the Billboard Top 100, was produced by Timbaland and The Neptunes, and features Snoop Dog, Pharrell and Nas.

Then came Styles P’s solo debut with A Gangster and a Gentleman' . The record included the track "Good Times (I Get High)", which was one of the most played songs of 2002 in the US. In 2004 Styles featured on the Akon track 'Locked Up' which went to No.8 in the US and No.5 in the UK. In 2006 Styles had his biggest hit to date with a remix of the Mariah Carey track 'We Belong Together' which then went to No.1 and No.3 in the US and UK respectively.
Through collaborations and solo ventures, Style P has secured himself a coveted position in US hip-hop hierarchy.
