Snow Patrol drummer Jonny Quinn has spoken to a Belfast newspaper about the possible release date and title for the band's new album.
The Belfast Telegraph is reporting that the new Snow Patrol album will be called One Hundred Million Suns, and hit the racks in the autumn rather than early 2009 as originally thought.
Talking from Berlin where the final sessions are taking place, drummer Jonny Quinn tells the paper: “It’s still very much melody-based, but it’s different too in ways from the other albums. It’s hard to know what everyone will make of it but we’re happy. I’d go as far as to say I think it’s our best album yet.
“The new album should be out some time later this year, maybe October, and we certainly want to get home to play a big gig for everyone next year. But we’ll probably play a few smaller ones, with any luck, before Christmas.”
Quinn went on to talk about his August 16 wedding in Oslo to Norwegian girlfriend Marianne Rokke. Long-time Snow Patrol associate Iain Archer will provide the music in the church while Declan O’Rourke will perform ‘Galileo’ as the first dance.
“My drum technician Graham Hunter is in a band and they’ll be playing and we’re having an open mic at the reception, so Gary (Lightbody) might get up and sing as well,” he concludes.
