Jacko film coins $20 million in one day!

The Michael Jackson concert documentary This Is It took in $20 million worldwide on its first day.

The film, using rehearsal footage for Jackson’s comeback concerts, was shown all over the world last Tuesday. It lasts nearly two hours, with Jackson performing such hits, including Man in the Mirror’, ‘Beat It’, and ‘Black or White’.

It has also been announced that the film will be submitted to the Academy Awards for consideration in the Best Picture category.

Jackson's brothers attended a showing of the film in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The film was released to cinemas on Wednesday for a limited two-week run, although Sony has admitted that its intended run may be extended if public demand is sufficiently high. By this coming weekend, the documentary will have been seen in more than 100 countries.
