Adebisi Shank reveal new album title

They're also bracing at the bit to play live again.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 07 Jul 2010

Adebisi Shank have revealed that their new record will be called – yes, you’ve guessed it! – This Is The Second Album Of A Band Called Adebisi Shank.

Due in August, it features 10 tracks and, according to drummer Michael Roe, finds the band refining their sound.

“We sent it to a few people because we’ve asked some people to play other instruments on it and everyone has said it’s really weird!" Roe reflects. "It’s a lot different. It’s a bit more how I feel we’ve always wanted to sound, we sound a bit more relaxed lately. We’ve given ourselves a bit more time in it and a bit more space. It’s a bit less frantic, I don’t think it’s lost its energy but everything isn’t filled up with noise.”

Fans will be able to get a sneak preview on July 17 when the band pay a late night visit to Dublin’s Twisted Pepper.

“I’m really looking forward to playing live because we haven’t played in so long! I’d say we’re absolutely horrible. We probably won’t be able to play our instruments anymore!”

We’ll have a full interview with Michael in our next issue, out on Thursday July 15.
