Anarchy in the kitchen
Swap your strat for a spatula: leftfield heavyweights contribute to Document: A Story Of Hope – a cookbook with a difference
Confirmation that cooking is the new punk rock is provided by the publication this week of Document: A Story Of Hope.
A recipe-book-with-a-difference, the tome features contributions from over 120 people who gigged for Dublin's Hope Promotions collective and afterwards supplied details of their favourite vegan scram.
The leftfield Jamie Olivers include Fugazi, NoMeansNo, Gorilla Biscuits, Chumbawamba and Cornershop who played for Hope whilst still a twinkle in Norman Cook's eye.
Document: A Story Of Hope's publication is accompanied by the following events:
Friday September 27 – DJs Lee "King" Casey, Happy "Hag" Alpha Relish, Sleepyhead and Niall @ Savage Banter, Thomas House, Dublin. Free admission.
Saturday September 28 – Official launch and discussion @ The Dublin Food Co-Op, St Andrew's Resource Centre, Pearse Street. 11am.
Monday September 30 – Estel, Dinah Brand, Gary Fitzpatrick, Angus, Knifed and Guest DJs @ Parnell Mooney's, Dublin.
If you're not able to attend, fear not, 'cause copies of the book are available from Road Records priced 8.
