Andre 3000 to play Jimi Hendrix

Andre 3000 is to play Jimi in the new Hendrix biopic, All Is By My Side, which is being shot over the next six weeks in Dublin and Wicklow.

According to the Irish Film & Television Network website, the movie has been written and directed by Three Kings and U-Turns man John Ridley. Production duties are being shared by Tristan Orpen Lynch of Dublin’s Subotica Entertainment and Richard Kelly whose CV includes Donnie Darko.

All Is By My Side will focus on Hendrix’s 1966 arrival in the UK and the recording of his groundbreaking Are You Experienced? album, and have Ardmore Studios as its production base.
