Bloc Party collaborate with Jacknife Lee
Bloc Party have re-hired hotshot Irish producer Jacknife Lee for their third album, which may be rush-released before the end of the year.
“I think we’re making the record I always wanted us to make,” enthuses Kele Okereke. “We’re in the middle of it, still writing songs and mixing stuff.”
Appearing last night on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio One show, the band also debuted their new single, ‘Mercury’, which is being streamed all this week on BBC's website.
“It’s a song we finished a little while ago that we’re really proud of so we thought we’d let everyone hear it,” Okereke adds. “I’m still somewhat in awe.”
The song gets an official Irish release on August 8.
