Calvin Harris, Alt-J and Noel Gallagher among Ivor Novello winners
Oxegen headliner Calvin Harris has picked up the 'Songwriter of the Year' award at the 58th Ivor Novello awards...
The Ivor Novello awards celebrate and honour excellence in music-writing and took place this afternoon in London.
Also among the winners were soon-to-be Hot Press interviewees, Alt-J. The British quartet won the 'Album Award' for the excellent An Awesome Wave.
Emeli Sandé and her writing team picked up the 'Best Song Musically and Lyrically Award' and the prize for 'Music Most Performed Work' for 'Next To Me'.
The Maccabees received the award for 'Best Contemporary Song' for Given To The Wild's 'Pelican'.
Of course, what would an award ceremony be without one of the Gallaghers on stage? Our old friend Noel picked up the award for 'Outstanding Song Collection'.
Congrats to all!
