Damien Dempsey reveals new direction
Damien Dempsey has confirmed details of his fourth studio album, which finds him dabbling in electronica.
Due on June 1, To Hell Or Barbados is trailed on May 26 by the lead single, ‘Your Pretty Smile’ and also features ‘Massai’, ‘Chase The Light’, ‘How Strange’, ‘In The City’, ‘Summer’s In My Heart’ and the title-track, which is a reference to the 50,000 Irish slaves dispatched to the West Indies as slaves in the 17th century.
There's also a number of Irish dates to mark the release. Damien plays Vicar St, Dublin (June 1), Cyprus Avenue, Cork (6), Dolan's, Limerick (7), Roisin Dubh, Galway (8), Music Factory, Carlow (9).
