Eamon Dunphy preps for showtime

Hotpress has been told that the music policy on Eamon Dunphy's TV3 talk show will be of the "Tom Dunne, Ray Darcy ilk."

"We won't automatically be a home for pop music," says a spokesperson. "On music anyway, we won't be going head to head with the Late Late. They'll take a lot of acts that we won't unless they've got a great story. You're more likely to see Mundy than Kym Marsh."

Although there are no hard and fast rules, most guests will get to perform two songs. "We understand that people will have their song that they'll want to plug, but in return for that we'll ask them, for example, to do a creative cover. Don't be surprised if you hear Richard Thompson doing 'Oops, I've Done It Again' by Britney Spears!"

The show launches at 9pm on Friday September 5, the same night as the return of the Late Late. Expect blood!
