Exclusive: Amanda Palmer to duet with Gavin Friday
The ex-Dresden Doll has told Hot Press that they intend to sing a cover together.
Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra are Dublin-bound for a July 18 show in The Academy, and today Palmer revealed to HP that she intends to duet with Gavin Friday.
The pair are set to duet on a cover, and are in the process of deciding on the song itself.
Last year, Palmer sought $100,000 on Kickstarter to fund her Theatre Is Evil album, and ended up with a cool million. Speaking to our own Ed Power, she talked about how the backlash and criticism towards her campaign affected her emotionally.
She also opened up about how surprised she was at how well her recent TED talk entitled ‘The Art Of Asking’ was received, and says she did not expect it go viral – it has been viewed over two millions times – or herself to become a spokesperson for crowd-funding.
The full interview will run in a future issue of Hot Press
