Fight Like Apes hit their FundIt target
Their controversial call for donations has paid off.
"Funded" was the celebratory tweet from Choice Music Prize nominees Fight Like Apes earlier this morning, as they hit their high Fundit target of €20,000 with 23 hours to go.
The fundraising call had been a controversial one, as people questioned the amount the Dublin group had asked for and, with four days to go, they were still €8,000 away from their target. It would seem their Friday night Odessa show gave them the necessary momentum to get them over the finish line.
Having left their label, Model Citizen, earlier this year Fight Like Apes set up a controversial Fundit.ie campaign to finish the follow up to 2010's The body of Christ and the legs of Tina Turner.
