Gerry Ryan to feature unsigned acts
Acts of all musical persuasions are being asked to submit MP3s.
Gerry Ryan is about to put his large radio audience to extremely good use by introducing a new feature called Undercurrents, which will air every Friday and showcase an unsigned act who haven’t previously been playlisted on 2fm.
Information, pictures and details of the artists will also be featured on the Gerry Ryan Show homepage, making it a highly desirable gig.
“The standard and interest in this project has completely surpassed our expectations,” Gerry Ryan enthuses. “This is exactly what RTÉ 2fm is good at doing. It’s what we have been doing since the early days of the Dave Fanning Show and we are continuing to do it. Listen in every Friday morning to hear some true talent.”
Coordinating the project is researcher John Bela Reilly who adds: “It’s a great opportunity for us to get behind some of the under-the-radar talent out there. The response has been phenomenal from metal ballads polished in garages, studio-recorded honky-tonk, to growling rock flawlessly executed in garden sheds.”
CD quality tracks, preferably less than four minutes long, should be sent as an MP3 attachment to [email protected].
