Irish acts head to America's capital
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a musician in Norn Iron next week as anyone who can bang, blow or strum an instrument clears off to Washington DC for the Rediscover Northern Ireland Arts & Culture Program.

Doing their damndest to wow our colonial cousins from March 23 to 31 are Snow Patrol, Duke Special, Oppenheimer, Foy Vance, Claire Sproule, Iain Archer, Skibunny and DJs Alan Simms and Timmy Stewart.
Also upcoming on March 26 is NI in NY, a one-off gig at New York’s Knitting Factory with free admission and performances by Sir Duke, Iain Archer, Foy Vance, Claire Sproule, Ben Glover, Oppenheimer, Alloy Mental, In Case Of Fire, Cashier No. 9, Lafaro, Robyn G Shiels and Mark Gordon.
There’s also an accompanying New Music From Northern Ireland: Live In The USA sampler featuring a track apiece from the participating acts.
