Jameson Film Festival Music Line-Up Unveiled

JDIFF 2013 will kick-off from February 14 in Dublin

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 28 Jan 2013

There’s a pronounced rock ‘n’ roll flavour to this year’s 2013 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, which runs from February 14 – 24 in the capital’s finest picture houses.

Bigged up in these very pages last year by John Lydon, Beware Of Mr. Baker is a celebration of the life and manic times of Cream legend Ginger Baker. Along with Mr. Lydon, Charlie Watts, Stuart Copeland and Lars Ulrich pay their drummerly respects.

Expect the ‘house full’ signs to also go up for The Frames: In The Deep Shade, Conor Masterson’s fabulous delve into Glen Hansard and the chaps’ world.

Antony Hegarty stars alongside theatre director Robert Wilson and actor Willem Dafoe in The Life And Death Of Marina Abramovic, an experimental opera featuring the titular performance artist.

Getting the retrospective treatment is Jem Cohen who’s turned his camera on the likes of Fugazi, Patti Smith, Jonathan Richman and REM in a career spanning three decades. His latest doc, Museum Hours, was shot in Berlin and stars Canadian music legend Mary Margaret O’Hara.

The festival website has all the wheres and whens, and keep an eye on hotpress.com later today for some of the trailers.
