Jinx Lennon on four more years of Obama
The punk poet offered his thoughts on what Obama's re-election symbolises for the world...
Dundalk songwriter Jinx Lennon is known for his forthright views and today he talked to Hot Press about his feelings on the result of last night's US Presidential Election.
"It's very heartening," Lennon began, "because the elephant in the room was that the first term was a fluke, an experiment to see if a black man would have the ability to sustain the support of the most powerful country in the world. An experiment supposedly doomed to fail.
"The majority of American people can see he's a true leader, especially the way he carried himself during the recent superstorm and its aftermath."
The musician did not extend the same compliments to his defeated Republican opponent.
"Mitt Romney is a caricature of a Hollywood American President – Warren Beatty in Bulworth. Watch that movie, it's scary how much Romney looks like him."
You can catch Jinx Lennon live at the Oriel Centre, Dundalk on Thursday November 8, with special guest Choice. The following Thursday (15) finds him in Cavan, playing the Cafe Sessions. For more Jinx dates, click here.
