Kíla take on Spanish Armada
Kíla are to feature in a rollicking Spanish Armada play in Kildare this month
The play, The Adventures of The Wet Senor by Donal O’Kelly, features a unique score composed for the show by Kíla and performed live on stage by the band. It breaks exciting new ground in music-theatre, combining Kíla with the powerful storytelling skills of Donal O’Kelly and high octane performances from Carrie Crowley, Jaimie Carswell and Sorcha Fox.
It tells the story of Captain Francisco de Cuellar, shipwrecked on the west coast of Ireland in 1588. He spent three months attempting to get off Ireland, enjoying strange adventures and encountering wonderful characters along the way. The stage adaptation is based on De Cuellar's letter to the Spanish court.
The play will be performed at Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge, Co Kildare on Friday November 19 at 8pm. Tickets are €18/ €16
