Last chance to visit The Philip Lynott Exhibition!

The exhibition's FINAL WEEKEND is upon us...

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 20 Oct 2011

Monday October 31 marks the last time we close the doors on The Philip Lynott Exhibition. Following eight fantastic months that saw fans of Philo and Thin Lizzy come from far and wide to marvel at an exceptional tribute to the great man, the exhibition finally comes to a close.

This weekend marks your ABSOLUTE last chance to get down to the Stephen's Green Shopping Centre and take in the greatest collection of Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy memorabilia the world has ever seen. The exhibition also played host to some of Ireland's hottest up and coming acts, with the likes of Republic Of Loose, The Minutes, Bipolar Empire and the recent breakthrough act Leaders Of Men among the many names who dropped by to belt out a classic Lizzy tune.

The exhibition originally opened on March 4, for a planned run of one month. It became the longest month in history, being extended on a number of occasions during what was to become an eight month stint.

"It has been a fantastic success," Hot Press editor Niall Stokes said. "The interest from music fans all over the world far exceeded our expectations, with people coming to Dublin from all over Europe to see the exhibition, as well as from the US, Canada and Brazil on one side and Japan and even Australia on the other. But perhaps the most gratifying aspect of it all was the fact that so many young people got to see the exhibition and fall in love with the music of Thin Lizzy and of Philip Lynott as a result.

"We set out to do something that would do the memory of Philip Lynott proud and the response confirms that we achieved that. Everyone at Hot Press would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who contributed to what was an amazing event."
