Neil Young embraces clean living
He has given up smoking cannabis and drinking alcohol to write his forthcoming memoir...
After admitting to previously smoking marijuana "the way others smoke cigarettes," to the New York Times, Neil Young has spent about a year living a sober lifestyle while writing his memoir Waging Heavy Peace.
Young explains his reasons for going clean,
"I did it for 40 years, now I want to see what it's like to not do it. It's just a different perspective."
In his forthcoming memoir Young reveals, "The straighter I am, the more alert I am, the less I know myself and the harder it is to recognise myself. I need a little grounding in something and I am looking for it everywhere."
Waging Heavy Peace will be published on October 11 and his new album Psychedelic Pill will be released on October 29.
